Top Ten New-To-Me Favorite Authors I Read For The First Time In 2015

It is time to start the top tens about the books I read in 2015! This is always an exciting time of year and I enjoy talking about all the books I've completed in the last twelve months.

1) Diana Gabaldon - I read Outlander earlier this year and absolutely loved it. The story really surprised me because it is primarily romance but has many other elements involved as well. I've

2)Andy Weir - When I read The Martian earlier this year, I had no idea how it would take over my life. I really enjoyed the characters and the science fascinated me.

3) Brigid Kemmerer - About a year ago I purchased the first two books in Kemmerer's Elemental series. This year I've really enjoyed this series. I have the first three this year and I am hoping to finish the series soon. I'm just loving this series.

4) Hiromu Arakawa - I devoured the Fullmetal Alchemist manga series this summer! The librarians were probably tired of seeing me because I was there every week checking out the series. I haven't checked if Arakawa has published anything since that series, but I should because I would love to read it.

5) Susan Ee - Over the summer I powered through the Penryn and the End of Days trilogy. I loved it and I read each book in a single day. They were so fast paced and I really enjoyed the writing style. I hope Ee comes out with another book or series soon!

6) Neil Gaiman - I am so happy I tried Neil Gaiman earlier this year. I loved the writing in the Ocean at the End of the Lane. It was a fascinating book and I was totally captivated by it. I need to read more.

7) Mindy McGinnis - One of my most anticipated books of this year was A Madness So Discreet. It did not disappoint and now I'm anxious to read the other book I own by McGuinnis.

8) Winston Graham - As far as historical fiction goes, Graham is a new favorite of mine. I love the first two books in his Poldark Series and I am dying to get my hands on the rest.

9)  S.C. Gwynne - Gwynne is a non-fiction author and I really enjoyed his writing style. I was engaged, interested and amused during his account of Thomas Jackson's life. Fantastic!

10) Rae Carson - For years I've heard amazing things about Rae Carson and finally picked up one of her books. I really enjoyed it and will be pickup the rest of her Girl of Fire and Thorns trilogy asap!

  1. I love Rae Carson and really liked the Outlander novels I've read by Gabaldon. I can't believe I forgot to put Mindy McGinnis on my list! I read A Madness So Discreet and really liked it too. One of my friends loves Susan Ee's novels and has been trying to get me to read them so maybe I'll add them to my list for next year. I am also curious about the Poldark novels as I liked the first season of the show.
