This weekend I think I did fairly well. I did not read broadly or finish anything, but I made quite a lot of progress in one book. In fact, I was a bit obsessed with Outlander this weekend. I could not put it down. Of course, some life stuff got in the way so I couldn't spend the entire weekend reading. I did read nearly 300 pages, which would've polished off any of the other books, and very sneakily started the TV show as well.
Overall, Outlander took up all my free time this weekend and I can't stop thinking about it. I really didn't believe people when they gushed about this one, but I'm very quickly coming to the dark side.
What did you read this weekend? Any thoughts on Outlander? Am I going to need the sequel immediately?
If you are wondering, what is this Outlander book? Check out the description below although I'm sure you've heard stirrings about it since the internet has been obsessed for the past year or so.

Hurled back in time by forces she cannot understand, Claire is catapulted into the intrigues of lairds and spies that may threaten her life, and shatter her heart. For here James Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior, shows her a love so absolute that Claire becomes a woman torn between fidelity and desire—and between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.
Outlander is simply one of my faves. But I don't know if I want to watch the TV show! Jamie doesn't look at all as I pictured in my head. :(
ReplyDeleteI hate that! I've been using TV Jamie as a reference point since I've seen clips of the show already, but he does look a little different when I read the book.
