March Favorites (2018)

Once again I have left a long gap between my favorites posts. I doubt I have enough media and products to do one of these every month, but I think I could make them more often. Hopefully I remember to write them out on a more regular basis. Because it has been so long, I have more than just my March favorite. 

Favorite Books: The Horimiya Series by Hero and The Secret Casebook of Simon Feximal by KJ Charles. I had very strong feeling about both of these this month. Horimiya was an incredibly cute manga that I borrowed from my library. I've only been able to access the first six. I'm just dying for more. This is a contemporary series about two classmates who find they both have a side to themselves they don't show many people.

The Secret Casebook was another animal entirely. I've enjoyed a lot of Charles' books. This book is something special. The characters really touched me. They borrowed themselves under my skin and I had a hard time moving onto the next book because I was so attached to them. This is a M/M historical paranormal fiction about two men who go on incredible adventures and fight all manner of supernatural creatures together and who come back to each other in the darkest moments.

 

Favorite Audiobooks: The Diviners Libba Bray. This was an incredible audiobook. The narrator had so many different characters to voice and she sang several times. She did an amazing job and I'm so excited to listen to the next one.

End of Winter Favorites

Recently (i.e. the last six months) I haven't been doing many favorites posts or videos. I did make a Top Five Non-Bookish Favorites video for the recent Top Five Wednesday topic. However, I didn't cover all my normal topics and I still have a few new things I want to cover. I love a lot of things!

Book Favorite - 

 

So far in 2017 I can say with confidence my favorite book has been The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill. This delightful middle-grade novel has stolen my heart after it took me by surprise in January. Obviously I've been pushing it on my friends ever since then and trying to get as many people as possible to read it. Check out my review! 

Description:

Blog/Video Favorite
These last few months have been a bit slower on the blog front, but I like it this way. My brain isn't as scattered. I do a better job reading and writing about what I read. Anyway I do have a favorite post and video I've made recently. The first is my Valentine's Day post about my Top Ten Tuesday post on my Top Ten Couples/Ships. I really enjoyed writing this post and seeing the comments about those couples.

This month I've embarked on a mission to do a bookshelf tour of my TBR Bookshelf. I'm also hoping to do my regular bookshelf at some point. However, I've only posted one of the three videos so far. I am working on getting the other two posted A.S.A.P.

Random Favorite - Podcasts! 

 Throughout March I've barely read any books, but I have listened to a lot of podcasts. There are two I've been listening to the most. Stuff You Missed in History is a fascinating podcast about lesser know events and people in history. Not Too Deep with Grace Helbig is hilarious though I do pick and choose which guests I listen to.

March Favorites

It may be a little late to make a March favorites video because we are rapidly approaching the midpoint of the month. However, I still want to recap my month and I like making these posts so I'm going to break the rules (are there rules?) and make this a little late.

Book Favorite:

March was a weird month for reading for me. I started out of the gate at a rapid pace, but my reading died off REALLY fast. I didn't finish a novel after the second week of the month and went on a graphic novel binge for a few weeks before slipping into a massive reading slump. So instead of a book favorite this month, I have a favorite book format. 

I love the graphic novel format and I read quite a few in March. They are just as emotional and full of interesting characters as regular novels, but they have art and are faster reads!

    

Blog/Video Favorites:

This month my favorite post was the Top Ten Tuesday post I put together about the Top Ten Bookish People to Follow on Social Media. (There was a lot more than 10) This post was a lot of work to put together but I liked the way it came together.

March Favorites

This month has been a hectic one! I hardly read anything. Actually I feel like I hardly did anything at all so I'm sorry the blog has been a bit sparse this month. I went on a camping trip and also had a birthday weekend whirlwind with a friend. (Her birthday. Not mine). Plus I wasn't in a great mood to read this month so that just got pushed to the back burner. Hopefully I'll pick up my slack in April, but here are some thing I have been doing this month and loving.

Music

Laura Marling - very relaxing music while still being upbeat. I really like all of her music and she played with Mumford and Sons!


Paper Route: I love this band! I've recently rediscovered them on my iPod though so I've been listening to their album a lot as well.



I've been listening to this Spotify Playlist. A lot of bands I like, but songs I don't know or remember after they've moved on.

Movies:

Anxiously searches for movies I've watched this month....The Kingsmen! How could i almost forget this movie. Loved it! Check it out if you like adventure and comedies. I was not expecting to like it as much as I did. So much fun.

Television

I've started a lot of television this month. I started a rewatch of Teen Wolf which is one of my favorite shows. I'm addicted to Dylan O'Brian and Tyler Hoechin this month and I just cannot stop. Its turning into a problem.

I've also began Veronica Mars from the beginning again. I watched this show a couple years ago but never made it the whole way through. Arrow is another one I'm in the middle of.

I'm anxiously awaiting Sleepy Hollow news, but it looks less and less likely every week...except now it doesn't! I switched over to facebook while writing this and found out the show as been renewed for season three. My heart rejoices! (This part of the post was written a couple weeks ago, but I couldn't cut my excitement out)

  

Favorite Book This Month

Obviously, my favorite book this month was Outlander. I mean I read that 600 pg book so quickly and I couldn't put it down! I just loved it. I mean who couldn't love Jamie Fraser? I just can't handle my feelz about this book.

I got a little obsessed and I did end up starting the TV show, but I've only watched one episode. I cannot wait for more!

Thing I did This Month

This month my friends and I went on a camping trip at a state park. It was so much fun. We stayed in a cabin with heat and nice bathroom and a great road for walking. So in truth this wasn't real tough camping. We had a lot of fun though and
